“KIDS & KEEPERS AT COVE”
A New Summer Program at Cove Spring Park

Weekend programs, open to all, are standard fare at Cove Spring Park/Nature Preserve.  Now, something new is being added:  a summer series of weekday morning activities for kids and “keepers.”

Moms – or any “keeper” 14 years or older – must accompany children ages 3 – 10, and are encouraged to pack a picnic lunch to enjoy at the shelter following the program. Activities will be offered in July and August.

The July programs will be guided by Cove Spring’s Education Coordinator, Debbie Bramlage, on Tuesday mornings at 11:00 a.m., beginning July 14th. Scheduled activities are:
7/14 – “Toad Abode”
7/21 – “Come Out of Your Shell”
7/28 – “Rocks Rock – and Roll”

August will feature self-guided Discovery Hikes. At the Information Kiosk in the main park, kids and keepers will find printed handouts for a new adventure each week. A fresh activity guide will be in place every Tuesday from August 4 through August 18, and remain available for a full week.

All programs are sponsored by Frankfort Parks, Recreation and Historic Sites, and are free to all participants.  For more information, call 502-352-1333.
